Brad Mills made sure Terry Francona wasn’t left out of the All-Star Game
Terry Francona’s recent health complications may have prevented him from managing the American League in this year’s All-Star Game, but his replacement, Cleveland Indians bench coach Brad Mills, made sure that Tito still got some quality face time with the players.
During the team’s pregame meeting, Mills introduced a life-sized cutout of Francona to the squad. While its facial features were spot on, the cardboard version of Francona featured sculpted biceps and washboard abs. As broadcaster Joe Buck put it: “Terry’s never looked better.”

On Saturday, Francona returned home after a four-day hospital stay. Earlier that week, the 58-year-old underwent a cardiac ablation procedure for an irregular heartbeat. He plans to resume his managerial duties on July 14 when the Indians play the Oakland Athletics.
