Chicago Cubs pitcher Jon Lester experienced something on Sunday that he never had as a member of the Boston Red Sox: The 33-year-old failed to get out of the first inning.

In undoubtedly the worst start of his career, Lester kicked off his team’s afternoon contest against the Pittsburgh Pirates by giving up 10 runs.

The Pirates managed to make it through their entire batting lineup, as they rattled off three singles, a double, a home run, and a grand slam. Lester also walked three batters and gave up a sacrifice bunt.
