Jon Lester pokes fun at his inability to throw to first base
Lester was tweeting in response to Major League Baseball's new CBA
Major League Baseball owners and players were able to reach a tentative agreement on a new five-year labor contract Wednesday, making just about everyone involved in the sport happy.
Cubs pitcher Jon Lester, who won his third World Series ring this season, chimed in on Twitter:
While my efforts to eliminate pitchers from having to throw to 1B didnt pass, I’m proud of the PA & Owners for coming together on a new CBA!

Lester’s inability throw to first base with runners on became a running subplot of the 2016 postseason, but did not end up negatively affecting the Cubs in the long run. With no rule change in sight, Lester’s battle with throwing over will be on display again as the Cubs defend their title in 2017.
