The Cubs got David Ross the best retirement gift
The 39-year-old Ross also won a World Series with the Red Sox in 2013.
David Ross ended his 15-year major league career as a champion Wednesday night.
Ross hit a home run off Andrew Miller of all people in Game 7 between the Indians and the Cubs, helping his team to its first World Series title in 108 years. After the game, Ross was carried off the field by his teammates.

“I’m totally exhausted,” Ross told Fox Sports. ” What a group of winners. These guys never quit. They’ve answered every challenge all year long. When you want to just crumble when that ball goes over the fence these guys fight back and continue to have good at-bats and play their game … we got guys that didn’t even make the roster that are great players. It’s a good organization, I’m so happy for these guys and I’m just glad they took me on this journey.”
On the plane ride home, Ross got his moment with the trophy.
