Patriots-Packers had the highest Week 9 overnight rating in Sunday Night Football history
NBC’s Sunday Night Football has been the highest-rated program in prime time for the past seven years.
But Sunday’s Patriots-Packers matchup was a ratings smash even by SNF’s usual standards.
Per NBC, the Patriots’ 31-17 victory over the Packers delivered the best Week 9 overnight rating in the 13-year history of Sunday Night Football, with a 15.6 rating/26 share.
Boston was the second-highest-rated market, earning a 37.9 rating and 59 share locally. The game got a 44.7/63 in Milwaukee.

The previous Week 9 record also involved the Patriots. A matchup between the 6-1 Patriots and the 7-0 Colts during the 2006 season earned a 15.1/22.
Sunday’s game was up 63 percent over last year’s SNF matchup between Miami and Oakland (9.6/16).
