WEEI’s Kirk Minihane announced Thursday evening that he’s taking an “indefinite leave” from co-hosting the “Kirk & Callahan” morning show.

“Still battling mental health issues,” the radio host said on Twitter. “Truth is I came back to work too fast.”

Minihane was off the air for about a week in early August to undergo treatment for depression. When he returned to work, he shared in great detail what had led him to check in to the Winchester Hospital emergency room with suicidal thoughts.

Minihane was on the radio Thursday morning. On Twitter, he told followers he’ll “be OK.”
