Mike Giardi, a staple on NBC Sports Boston for nearly a decade as an anchor and reporter, is leaving the network.

Giardi, who most notably hosted on-site Patriots coverage along with reporters Tom Curran and Phil Perry for NBCSN, made the announcement Monday on his Facebook page. He has another job lined up, one believed to be in a similar role but of greater prominence.

“As for what’s next . . . you’ll see me soon enough. Real soon,’’ he wrote on a Facebook post in which he saluted numerous colleagues at NBCSN.

His final show at NBCSN will be Monday night’s Early Edition program at 6 p.m.

Giardi joined in NBCSN in 2009, when it was still known as Comcast SportsNet New England. CSNNE hired 50 staffers, including several on-air personalities, that November while amping up its television and digital presence. Giardi came over from NESN, where he had been the weekend sports anchor and host of Sports LateNight.

A native of Norwood, Giardi played football at Trinity College and earned a master’s degree in journalism from Boston University.
