Media personality Michael Felger has been suspended from NBC Sports Boston for his brash comments following the death of retired MLB pitcher Roy Halladay.

The network issued a statement Friday afternoon, announcing that Felger’s punishment is effective immediately and will go through Sunday. Calling his words “insensitive,” the regional sports affiliate said Felger’s remarks “are not representative of our network’s views or standards.”

Felger made the comments on 98.5 The Sports Hub but also appears on NBC Sports Boston programs. To start his radio talk show on Thursday, the 48-year-old apologized for his “over-the-top” reaction.
