New Gatorade commercial focuses on Matt Ryan’s Super Bowl LI defeat

After suffering a devastating defeat to the New England Patriots in Super Bowl LI, Atlanta Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan said he watched the game film for three straight days immediately following the loss.

Almost five months later, however, the 2017 league MVP is ready to move on.

“Anytime that we kind of dwell on that, is wasted time,” he said, via the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. “We have to focus trying to become the best football team that this group can be.”

A new Gatorade commercial, titled “The Secret to Victory,” features Ryan and other athletes recalling instances of failure in their careers.

The one-minute clip ends by the quarterback embodying the brand’s message, “make defeat your fuel,” as he transitions from somberly walking off the field at NRG Stadium to getting pumped up running drills at practice.
