Aly Raisman visited Dana-Farber in honor of her grandmother
Six-time Olympic medalist and Needham native Aly Raisman visited Dana-Farber Cancer Institute on Monday to honor her grandmother, meet with patients, and present a donation.
Raisman’s grandmother Nancy Raisman passed away from lung cancer and was treated by Dr. Pasi Jänne, the director of the Lowe Center for Thoracic Oncology at Dana-Farber.
Raisman signed autographs and visited patients at their bedsides and in the Jimmy Fund Clinic.

She also, along with representatives from tire and rubber company Bridgestone, presented a $10,000 check to Jänne and the Lowe Center, according to a statement from Dana-Farber.
The donation is part of Bridgestone’s “Behind the Performance” program, through which Bridgestone partnered with six Olympic athletes to celebrate and honor their journeys.
