David Ortiz wore a No. 12 jersey, fired up the crowd before the Patriots game
Before closing out a crucial series against the Yankees, David Ortiz traveled to Gillette Stadium for the Patriots home opener.

Ortiz served as an honorary team captain, and the Patriots marked his final season with the Red Sox with a video tribute:
