Marky Walbridge, a junior from St. Sebastian’s School, received his 23rd collegiate offer recently, and it was given to him directly by Bill Belichick.

The 6-foot-6-inch, 270-pound left tackle has been getting offers to play in college since he was a freshman. These offers have included the universities Wisconsin, Penn State, Tennessee, and Michigan.

“I don’t really get nervous for meetings with the coaches,” said Walbridge, in an interview with WBZ News Boston. “But [Belichick], I was a little bit nervous for, because I grew up watching him on TV, all the success he’s had as a coach. We’ve been to the Patriots parades and whatnot, seen him celebrate.”

Walbridge was recognized as a Boston Globe All-Scholastic for the 2024-2025 season after not allowing a sack for the second-consecutive season. He was also recognized by the Massachusetts High School Football Coaches Association as he was included in the Super 26 All-State team.

Rivals rated the offensive tackle with 5.7 stars and named him as the 3rd-best prospect in the state. 247 Sports ranked Walbridge 3rd in the state as well as the 30th as offensive tackle.

Despite UNC’s offer, Walbridge has not yet made a decision for his collegiete career as more offers keep rolling in.

“He tells me he’s keeping an open mind, his family close, and his head down,” said Brandon Truitt, a reporter from WBZ News. “After all, this junior still has another season to play.”
