ESPN’s “College GameDay’’ program will be based at Boston College on Saturday for the game between No. 17 Boston College and No. 2 Clemson, the top two teams in the ACC’s Atlantic Division.

Boston College (7-2, 4-1) has won three games in a row following Saturday’s 31-21 victory at Virginia Tech. Clemson (9-0, 6-0) is coming off a 77-16 home over Louisville.

It will be BC’s third appearance for the show, which will air at 9 a.m. Kickoff is at 8 p.m.

“College GameDay’’ last visited Chestnut Hill in 2009, when the Eagles hosted Florida State. The show last appeared in New England in 2014, when Harvard hosted Yale in that year’s meeting of “The Game.’’

BC moved up seven spots in the most recent AP Top 25 college football poll. The Eagles are the third-highest-ranked ACC team behind Clemson and Syracuse (No. 13).

It is the Eagles’ highest ranking since the final week of the 2007 season, when they were ranked 10th.

In the poll, the top three teams — Alabama, Clemson, and Notre Dame — remained unchanged. No. 4 Michigan, No. 5 Georgia, and No. 6 Oklahoma each moved up a spot.

West Virginia, at No. 7, re-entered the top 10 after 10 teams ranked in the Top 25 lost. Over the last two weeks, 21 ranked teams have lost, the most over a two-week span since the AP poll expanded to 25 in 1989.

Syracuse moved up nine spots to its best ranking since 1998, when the Orange got to No. 11.

Meanwhile, No. 11 Central Florida (8-0), which has the nation’s best winning streak (21 games), fell two spots.

LSU slipped five spots to No. 9 after being shut out by Alabama, 29-0.
