Boston College football team breaks into Top 25 polls
The Eagles were last ranked in the polls on Nov. 30, 2008.
The Boston College football team broke into both of the major Top 25 college football polls on Sunday, checking in at No. 23 in the Associated Press poll and No. 25 in the coaches poll.
BC, ranked for the first time since 2008, is 3-0 and has defeated UMass, Holy Cross, and Wake Forest, outscoring them 158-69. It’s the first time in program history the Eagles have scored more than 40 points in their first three games of the season. BC beat Wake Forest 41-34 on Thursday in their first ACC game.
The Eagles were last ranked in the polls on Nov. 30, 2008, when they were No. 18 in the AP poll and No. 20 in the coaches poll.
BC faces at Purdue at noon on Saturday as it attempts to go 4-0 for the first time since 2007.
Senior defensive end Wyatt Ray was named the Walter Camp Football Foundation national defensive player of the week. Ray recorded four sacks and eight tackles in the win over Wake Forest.
