Boston College picked fourth in ACC’s preseason football poll
BC hosts UMass in its Sept. 1 season opener at Alumni Stadium.
Entering his sixth season at Boston College, football coach Steve Addazio will boast one of his most experienced, if not talented, teams this season.
That was reflected in the Atlantic Coast Conference’s recent preseason football poll released on Monday, which predicted the Eagles, usually picked at the bottom of the Atlantic Division, to finish fourth in arguably the league’s toughest division in 2018.
BC, which hosts UMass in its Sept. 1 season opener at Alumni Stadium, garnered 545 points to finish fourth in the division behind Clemson (1,031 points), Florida State (789) and North Carolina State (712). The Eagles finished ahead of division foes Louisville (422), Wake Forest (412) and Syracuse (232).
Miami was predicted to win the ACC’s Coastal Division, with the Hurricanes garnering 122 first-place votes and 998 points.
