STORRS, Conn. (AP) — UConn forward Azura Stevens is giving up her last year of eligibility and entering the WNBA draft.

The 6-foot-6 junior transfer from Duke says she will miss UConn, but it has been a lifelong dream to play in the WNBA. UConn coach Geno Auriemma says the school will support Stevens “in any way we can.”

Stevens averaged 14.7 points and 7.5 rebounds during her one year at UConn. The Huskies’ season ended Friday night with a loss to Notre Dame in the NCAA semifinals. It was UConn’s only loss this season.

Stevens was named the American Athletic Conference newcomer and sixth player of the year and the outstanding performer in the conference tournament.
