A Dartmouth football coach punched out a press box window at Harvard Stadium and got ejected
Bill Belichick isn’t the only one who takes special teams seriously.
An assistant coach for the Dartmouth football team reportedly punched out a press box window after his team fumbled away a punt during Saturday’s game at Harvard. As the college radio station WHRB first reported, the coach was removed from the press box by Harvard Stadium security.

The Washington Post reports that the incident sent shards of broken glass down on those sitting below the press box, injuring at least one fan.
“Everyone around us had some piece or pieces of glass on them and nobody could figure out what happened,” Harvard parent David Ryan told the Post in the email. One fan reportedly suffered a laceration to their neck due to the falling, broken glass.
ESPN identified the coach as Dion King, a “defensive quality control coach” for Big Green. Dartmouth head coach Buddy Teevens told ESPN in a statement that King “let his emotions get the best of him.”
“Dion and Dartmouth Football are terribly sorry for his actions and any harm caused by them. We hold ourselves to high standards, and in this instance we failed to conduct ourselves appropriately. Dion, Dartmouth Football, and I apologize wholeheartedly to everyone impacted, as well as to Harvard and Dartmouth,” Teevens said.
According to the Valley News, King was neither arrested nor cited, but spoke with police and is expected to pay for the damage. A Dartmouth spokesman also confirmed to the Valley News that someone kicked a hole in the wall of the coaches’ room during the football team’s home game last week against Columbia.
Harvard won Saturday’s game 25-22, giving them a 14-game winning streak over their Ivy League rival. Dartmouth had been leading 14-0 at the time of the muffed punt, which led to a Crimson touchdown.
