Would you rather have a $500 Dunkin’ Donuts gift card or an engagement ring?

Erin Tobin got both Thursday night during the halftime show of an evening college basketball game between the Siena Saints and Manhattan Jaspers.

As part of a Dunkin’ Donuts promotion, Tobin got the chance to win the gift card by making a basket from the half-court line. After an impressive one-handed hurl, the Siena graduate and season-ticket holder was astonished to see the ball swish through the net.

Tobin then turned around to find her boyfriend, Steve Duckett, who had been dressed as the Dunkin’ Donuts mascot, getting down on one knee.

“I was jumping up and down after hitting the shot since my brother said he’d give me 50 dollars if I even hit the rim,” said Tobin, according to a news release. “And then I turn around — expecting a gift card from Dunkin’ Donuts — and there he was on his knees, and I didn’t have any words.”

It’s safe to say she said yes.
