Watch BC’s Justin Dunn go wild with teammates after getting drafted by Mets
The Boston College baseball team is in the midst of an incredible season as the first New England team since UConn in 2009 to advance to the Super Regionals of the NCAA Tournament. However, on Thursday night, all of the attention was on one particular Eagle.
Junior pitcher Justin Dunn was selected with the No. 19 overall pick in the MLB Draft by the New York Mets, and the 20-year-old celebrated the occasion the same way he’s celebrated BC’s remarkable run all season long: surrounded by teammates.

Dunn, a 6-foot-2, 170-pound right-hander, led the Atlantic Coast Conference with a 1.49 ERA and a .208 opponent batting average this season. He struck out a career-high 11 batters in his Regional Round start on June 3, allowing just five hits and two runs in a 7-2 win over Tulane, and is slotted to start Game 1 of the best-of-three Super Regionals against No. 3 national seed Miami on Friday.
