Eichel Scores Twice as Terriers Advance to National Championship
The University of North Dakota kept Boston University fans on their toes late, but the Terriers are bound for their first Div. 1 Men’s Ice Hockey National Championship appearance in six years after Thursday night’s 5-3 win.
Presumptive NHL Entry no. 2 pick Jack Eichel got the Terriers on the board just under five minutes into the first period, slipping one past North Dakota’s Zane McIntyre.

North Dakota’s Troy Stecher scored a shorthanded goal mid-way through the third period, and teammate Connor Gardner would cut BU’s margin to one four minutes later, but Eichel’s empty-netter with 19 seconds to go iced the championship berth for the Terriers.
The Terriers will take on the Providence Friars at the TD Garden Saturday night in the National Championship.
