As celebrations surrounding the 20th anniversary of the 2004 Red Sox winning the World Series continue, it can be a compelling exercise for fans to see how many specific details they still remember from that time.
Reflecting on that particular team evokes innumerable memories, many of which — in true baseball fashion — involve everything from random statistics, journeymen bullpen contributors, and midseason trades all the way up to the uppercase events, like the final out of the World Series.
One of the great truths of the 2004 Red Sox was that it was a miracle achieved through the collective efforts of so many contributors. The unprecedented American League Championship Series comeback from an 0-3 series deficit against the Yankees required the stretching of every sinew (literally, in Curt Schilling’s case), and the usage of every player.
So the question remains: How much of all of that can New Englanders in 2024 actually recall?
