?
The Patriots’ Super Bowl win over the Rams
marks the first time the Red Sox won the World Series and the Patriots won the Super Bowl in the same year.
Immediately after the game, the Sox were quick to point out a relevant stat.
“Ending that 3-month Boston championship drought. Congrats, @Patriots! ?” the team tweeted Sunday night.

Boston joins New York in 1986, Pittsburgh in 1979, and Baltimore in 1970 as the only four cities to ever win both titles in one year (Boston also accomplished this feat in 2004). Other Boston athletes and teams congratulated the Patriots on their continued success.
Alex Cora and numerous Red Sox players weighed in:
Congratulations @Patriots. Amazing what you guys do. #Epic
