Charlie Baker mocked Manny Machado’s World Series-ending strikeout
"I cannot think of a better guy to go down for out number three."
Gov. Charlie Baker says he took particular satisfaction in watching Manny Machado strike out to end the World Series.
Sporting a red #DoDamage sweatshirt at the Red Sox pre-parade reception Wednesday morning at Fenway Park, the Massachusetts governor relived — and reenacted — the Los Angeles Dodgers shortstop’s flailing strikeout for the final out of Game 5.
“That was sweet. Sweet!” a spirited Baker yelled, after fist-pumping to the crowd.
“When I saw Machado come up and I saw the look on Chris Sale’s face, my reaction was, ‘I cannot think of a better guy to go down for out number three,’” he continued.
Baker then went on to imitate the Red Sox villain’s fruitless, falling swing, using his microphone as the bat.

“It was awesome,” he added.
And after watching Sale’s strikeout again, Baker’s Machado impression wasn’t that far off.
