Alex Cora can never accuse his starting pitchers of not being eager to contribute.

Chris Sale, David Price, and Rick Porcello all volunteered to start Game 4 of the World Series against the Dodgers on Saturday. Even Nathan Eovaldi half-joked he was ready to go, according to Cora.

Sale is projected to start Game 5 on Sunday, and he said he’s ready to go and excited for the opportunity. He allowed three earned runs in four innings in Game 1.

Price, who tossed six sharp innings in a Game 2 win, and threw 2/3 of an inning in relief in the team’s epic Game 3 loss, would likely be the Game 6 starter, if necessary. Cora did say that Price is available in relief for Game 4, but Sale is not.

Porcello, who started Friday night’s game, pitched well before the chaos came. He allowed one earned run in 4 2/3 innings, striking out five and walking one on 61 pitches.

Cora said the pitching staff isn’t tight, and he believes he’ll have no problem finding the right mix in nine innings or more. He said he expects Game 4 starter Eduardo Rodriguez to give the Red Sox a chance to win, as he did during the season.

“He’s a good matchup for us, we feel,” Cora told reporters.
