Watch Andrew Benintendi’s leaping catch in left field
"We can just send that to The Globe right now."
One week after making a spectacular catch to cement a dramatic Game 4 victory over the Astros in the ALCS, Red Sox left fielder Andrew Benintendi was at it again Wednesday night in Game 2 of the World Series.
In the top of the fifth, with no outs, Dodgers leadoff hitter Brian Dozier sent a deep fly ball toward the Green Monster. Benintendi ranged to his right, floated in mid-air, and came down with yet another an acrobatic grab.

Fox showed a freeze frame of the catch, and announcer Joe Buck was thinking local. “There you go,” Buck said. “We can just send that to The Globe right now.”

But Globe photographer Jim Davis already had captured the moment, a night after his iconic photo of Eduardo Nuñez’s mammoth three-run homer.

David Price retired the side in order, thanks in part to the highlight-reel play.
