This ESPN reporter had a NSFW observation about Fenway Park’s souvenir ice cream

ESPN sports business reporter Darren Rovell may have just ruined Fenway Park’s souvenir ice cream for many, many Red Sox fans. Or at least they’ll be sticking to the batting helmet cups.

Rovell isn’t the first to question the team’s Wally the Green Monster souvenir cups, which were introduced in 2015 by Aramark, the official concessions vendor for Fenway Park. An Aramark source noted to Boston.com Tuesday night that the company has sold 200 to 300 of those particular cups per night during the summer.

The Red Sox declined to comment on their arguably phallic ice cream cups Tuesday night, as the team battled the Los Angeles Dodgers in Game 1 of the World Series.

“I don’t have anything for you on this,” spokeswoman Zineb Curren said in an email.

Rovell, however, was reprimanded on Twitter by Wally, who maintained that he was a “family friendly mascot” and attributed the form of frozen likeness to his own “belly chub.”

“Darren, get your mind outta the gutter!” Wally replied.
