Don Orsillo, Pedro Martinez to call Rockies-Diamondbacks game on TBS

"My favorite pitcher of my career."

Don Orsillo hasn’t been part of Red Sox broadcasts since the 2015 season. But the popular former NESN play-by-play voice has been working with some familiar faces lately.

Orsillo, now the television voice of the Padres, has been calling some Sunday games on TBS since the network’s baseball broadcast schedule began after the All-Star Game.

On August 12, he was joined by current NESN analyst Dennis Eckersley to call the Astros-Mariners game on the network. Eckersley has contributed to TBS’s broadcasts since 2008, primarily in the postseason.

Orsillo tweeted that he’ll be joined by another Hall of Famer with strong Red Sox ties on Sunday for the Diamondbacks-Rockies game — Pedro Martinez.

TBS will showcase at least one Sunday afternoon game through the remainder of the regular season.

The network will be the home of the American League postseason from the wild-card game through the ALCS. TBS has not revealed its announcing teams for the playoffs yet, but it is expected that TBS’s full-time announcers, Ernie Johnson and Brian Anderson, will call the AL playoffs. From 2007-13, Orsillo was one of the voices of the divisional playoffs on the network.
