After seemingly re-injuring his left wrist during an at-bat in the top of the eighth inning of Game 2 against the Astros, Mookie Betts did not return to right field for the bottom stretch. Rajai Davis replaced the All-Star for the remainder of the game, as Betts received medical attention in the dugout.

While facing Houston’s Luke Gregerson, Betts appeared to have aggravated his wrist before flying out. Here’s a look at the sequence:

At the end of the regular season, the 24-year-old had left a game against the Blue Jays during the eighth inning on account of discomfort in the same joint.

“It started a couple of days ago when I took a swing and felt it,” Betts said at the time, “It has been kind of painful for swings. It is just a part of the season. It’s a sharp pain. I can’t really move my hand for a little bit. I don’t really know what’s going on.”

Following Friday’s game in Houston, John Farrell told reporters that his outfielder should be fine for Game 3.
