It was a nice start for Devers after going 0-for-4 in his debut Tuesday night. Security at Safeco Field could be seen tracking down the ball and handing it over to the Red Sox to commemorate the occasion.
The last Red Sox player to hit a home run for his first major league hit was Daniel Nava.

Guillermo Heredia was unable to make a play on Devers’s home run.
