When the Red Sox retire David Ortiz’s No. 34 jersey at Fenway Park on June 23, you could be there to give Big Papi a big hug.

Ortiz teamed up with fundraising platform Omaze to raise money for the David Ortiz Children’s Fund and the Red Sox Foundation by raffling off a chance to hang before the ceremony, then watch the game from the Red Sox owner’s seats near the dugout. (Editor’s note: John Henry owns both the Red Sox and Boston Globe Media, the parent company of Boston.com.)

To promote the contest, Ortiz shot a hilarious video in which he reenacts scenes from some of Boston’s most beloved films, including The Town, The Departed, and Good Will Hunting.

Big Papi isn’t going to win any Oscars for his performance, but there’s still something compelling about watching him play both Jimmy Fallon’s and Drew Barrymore’s roles from Fever Pitch.

Donating a minimum of $10 gets you 100 entries into the contest, with larger donations earning you additional entries and prizes, like a digital thank-you from Ortiz, a custom Big Papi eye black, and a copy of Ortiz’s new book.

The grand prize winner and a guest will get to enjoy the following rewards:

  • Get flown to Boston and put up in a four-star hotel
  • Attend David Ortiz’s No. 34 jersey retirement ceremony and watch the Red Sox vs. Angels game from the Red Sox owner’s seats
  • Go to batting practice and meet with Ortiz for selfies, one of his world-famous hugs, and to receive a personalized, autographed Red Sox jersey
  • Attend Ortiz’s celebrity comedy roast at the House of Blues in Boston

You can enter the contest through Thursday, June 15 by visiting the Omaze website.
