If we’ve learned anything over the past year, it’s the effectiveness of taking one’s message directly to the people.

So why wouldn’t the same principle apply to updates on David Price’s injured left elbow?

The Red Sox pitcher provided his own recovery report Tuesday, tweeting that he “felt great after” a 45-pitch bullpen session Monday. Price said he continued to “feel great” Tuesday, and directed any further question to Red Sox manager John Farrell.

Price began the season on the disabled list after experiencing soreness in his left elbow following a simulated game in February. The Red Sox have been closely managing the rehab of the former Cy Young-award winner, who is not expected to return to the team until at least June.
