White Sox VP believes Chris Sale will be great with Red Sox

Chicago White Sox executive vice president Kenny Williams and former White Sox pitcher Chris Sale had a couple of nasty incidents, but Williams knew one thing very early in his relationship with Sale — that Sale was one of the most competitive people he’d ever been around.

Sale was traded to the Red Sox at the Winter Meetings, but it was Williams who drafted him in the first round (13th overall) out of Florida Gulf Coast University in 2010.

For Williams, the first and lasting observation of Sale’s character came early on. It was after Sale, who began his White Sox career as a reliever, switched to being a starter in 2012.
