Pablo Sandoval got ‘complacent’ with big Red Sox deal: In his first interview since the trades that sent fellow third basemen Yoan Moncada and Travis Shaw to Chicago and Milwaukee respectively, Pablo Sandoval expressed a renewed commitment to winning. “I am not taking anything for granted,” Sandoval said. “I am here to work hard.” Sandoval added that his newborn son was a driving factor in his desire to win another championship, this time in Boston. Farrell: Mitch Moreland at 1B, Hanley Ramirez at DH most days: With the signing of first baseman Mitch Moreland now official, manager John Farrell outlined his plan for the incoming former Ranger. “Against right-handed starters, Mitch would be the first baseman,” manager John Farrell said. The team will also have the option of using Hanley Ramirez in the field, and Chris Young at designated hitters against left-handed starters, as well as prospect Sam Travis. (Boston Herald)
