Tuesday’s news

that Chris Sale will join Rick Porcello and David Price in the Red Sox rotation got the attention of one very recently retired slugger.

David Ortiz took to social media Tuesday night to say Sale being in “Btown” got him “thinking.”

The 41-year-old Ortiz retired with much fanfare at the end of this season, when he hit .315 with 38 home runs and 127 RBIs—proving there’s still enough gas left in the tank.

Last month, the team exercised his 2017 option for $17.2 million “as a formality,” meaning the Sox retained his rights in case he changed his mind. Later in November, Ortiz’s official retirement papers were filed, putting him off the roster.

As for what Big Papi is “thinking”? Only he knows.
