The Red Sox make their first two picks in the MLB draft, Tedy Bruschi thinks Bill Belichick is up for experimenting, and the Celtics continue to work prospects out ahead of the NBA Draft.

Red Sox take 17-year-old lefty Jason Groome with top pick: With the No. 12 pick in the first round, the Red Sox selected lefthanded pitcher Jason Groome out of Barnegat (N.J.) High School. Groome’s availability at this spot came as a considerable surprise, given that he was discussed as a potential consideration for the Phillies with the No. 1 overall draft pick earlier this spring. On deck for Youkilis: his own brewpub: Later this summer, the former Red Sox on-base machine will be able to walk into his own joint and pour himself an IPA. Youkilis is teaming with his brother, Scott, to open Loma Brewing Company near his home in Los Gatos, Calif. (Boston Globe)
