Red Sox vs. Giants: Madison Bumgarner and David Price highlight series

The Red Sox (33-24) visit the Giants (35-24) in San Francisco for a two-game series starting Tuesday.

With a 5-4 loss to the Blue Jays on Sunday, the Sox have lost four of their last five game and six of their last ten games, all of which were played against AL East opponents. Boston also allowed 39 runs in its last five games. The Sox are second in their division, a half a game behind the AL East-leading Orioles.

The Giants have lost three of their last five, and have won five of their last ten games. They are first in the NL West, and are four games ahead of the Dodgers. The Red Sox will not face red hot Giants starter Johnny Cueto (9-1, 2.16 ERA), who will pitch in the first game of the Giants’ ensuing series against the Dodgers on Friday.
