Reminder: Steven Wright’s knuckleball can baffle both hitters and catchers

Steven Wright has got that ball dancing lately.

The 31-year-old righthander pitched his second complete game of the season on Monday afternoon, allowing just two runs on four hits to move his ERA to 2.45 on the season, sixth in the American League. His Memorial Day performance marked the fourth time in Wright’s last five starts that he has gone at least seven innings.

Much of Wright’s success this season can be attributed to the absurd movement on his knuckleball, including this one that seemed to defy the laws of physics, fooling both the batter Chris Davis and Ryan Hanigan behind the plate:

It turns out that it’s not just the hitters that have trouble tracking Wright’s knuckler.
