Red Sox prospect Sam Travis out for season with torn ACL
Red Sox minor league first baseman Sam Travis will miss the remainder of the 2016 season with a torn ACL in his left knee, the team announced on Monday.
The 22-year-old injured his knee while making a tag during a rundown play against the Indianapolis Indians on Sunday afternoon. He is expected to recover by the start of next season.

Travis, who is ranked as the Red Sox’ seventh-best prospect by MLB.com, was batting .272 with six home runs and 29 runs batted in through 47 games with Triple-A Pawtucket this season.
