The hits keep on coming for Jackie Bradley Jr.

The Red Sox’ 26-year-old center fielder extended his MLB-leading hitting streak to 18 games on Thursday night, going 2-for-4 in an 11-1 win over the Astros.

“Just trying to stick with my approach,” Bradley said after Wednesday’s win over the Athletics. “Trying to keep everything simple, trying to put good swings on pitches.”

Bradley has been red-hot during the streak:

  • .418 batting average
  • 28 hits
  • 14 singles
  • 5 doubles
  • 3 triples
  • 6 home runs
  • 25 runs batted in
  • 13 runs
  • 1 stolen base
  • 4 walks
  • 1 hit by pitch
  • .452 OBP
  • 1.278 OPS

After hitting .196 across his first two seasons with the Red Sox (2013, 2014), Bradley emerged as key contributor late in the 2015 season after getting regular playing time in August and September.

“A lot of people doubted him,” Red Sox right fielder Mookie Betts told The Boston Globe, with Bradley’s 2016 contributions accumulating. “I enjoy watching him prove people wrong. He can hit; he can play center field; he can play the game. This is what I’ve always seen.”
