On Thursday, the Red Sox played the Twins at Hammond Stadium, the site of David Ortiz’s first ever spring training game just over 20 years ago. And the 40-year-old designated hitter went out with a bang, homering in his final Grapefruit League at-bat.

The solo shot marked his first round-tripper of the spring.

The Red Sox honored Ortiz in their final game at JetBlue Park on Tuesday.

The team will travel to Montreal for two exhibition games against the Toronto Blue Jays this weekend, and will begin the regular season on Monday when they take on the Cleveland Indians at Progressive Field.
