BOSTON (AP) — Pitcher Robbie Ross and the Boston Red Sox have agreed to a $1.25 million, one-year contract and avoided salary arbitration.

Ross can earn a $25,000 performance bonus under Friday’s agreement, either for 60 games or 60 innings.

A 26-year-old left-hander, Ross was 0-2 with a 3.86 ERA in 54 relief appearances last year, when he earned $566,500.

He was Boston’s last player in arbitration.
