Young slots in as one of four potential starting outfielders for the Red Sox with the roster as currently constituted, alongside Jackie Bradley Jr., Rusney Castillo, and Mookie Betts. Young has serious lefty/righty splits, so a platoon is also reasonable.

A 10-year veteran, Young played 140 games for the Yankees last season, hitting .252 with 14 home runs and 42 RBIs.
