David Ortiz is a member of Major League Baseball’s 500 home run club.

The 39-year-old slugger became the 27th player in MLB history to reach the mark with a pair of home runs in the Red Sox’s 10-4 win over the Rays at Tropicana Field on Saturday evening. After hitting the 499th longball of his career in the first inning, Ortiz reached the milestone by sending a fastball from Rays pitcher Matt Moore over the right-center-field wall in the fifth frame.

Ortiz, the fourth player to hit his 500th homer as a member of the Red Sox, was mobbed by teammates after circling the bases.
