Ben Cherington’s tenure with the Red Sox didn’t come without its controversial moves. Whether it be paying a well-known free agent a huge figure or partaking in a blockbuster trade, he made headlines seemingly every offseason during his four-year tenure as Boston’s general manager

During those four years, the Red Sox won the 2013 World Series, but if the Sox finish at the bottom of the AL East in 2015, it will be the third time they do so under his management.
