You can win a sleepover at Fenway Park
“Ever wonder what it would be like to sleep in Fenway Park?’’
If the answer is “yes,’’ “not until now, but screw it, I don’t have plans Sept. 2,’’ or really anything other than “why would I want to do that?’’ then airbnb.com has the contest for you.
The site – essentially Craigslist for lodging, for the uninitiated – is giving one lucky fan and a guest of his or her choice the chance to stay overnight in a furnished Fenway Park box on Sept. 2. The prize also includes dinner and breakfast, tickets to the game against the Yankees, a $500 team store shopping spree, a meet-and-greet with Luis Tiant, and the chance to stand on the field for the national anthem. Oh, and it’s hosted by World Series hero Curt Schillng.
Not included? A doorman, gym access, or carbon monoxide detector. But there is wi-fi.
Entrants are asked to submit an essay of no more than 550 words on why they would like to stay overnight at Fenway Park, with the grading breakdown as follows:
50% – Originality and creativity of the submission. Does it surprise and delight us? 30% – Spirit of the submission. How does your submission relate to Boston Red Sox? Does it tell us something about you? 20% – Quality of expression. Is it well-written?
The contest is open today through Thursday, Aug 20 at midnight. Click here for full details.
