Here’s video evidence of Hanley Ramirez making a couple decent plays in left field

Red Sox outfielder Hanley Ramirez made two pretty solid plays in left field Tuesday night, helping out rookie starter Brian Johnson in his Major League debut.

Ramirez, who has a blooper-filled resume, sprinted to make one catch and fell over to make another. It wasn’t pretty, but the 31-year-old was working hard in the outfield despite the team dropping five straight games.

In the second inning, Ramirez got a good jump on L. J. Hoes’s line drive and made the running grab.

Ramirez ended the fourth inning on a Hank Conger line drive, which was headed in Ramirez’s direction, but the ball died early. The catch was ugly but effective.
