Max Scherzer thinks Taylor Swift caused the Nationals Park power outage
Seemingly bored baseball players have turned Taylor Swift into a scapegoat.
The power went out at Nationals Park on Friday night, causing an 82-minute delay and eventually suspended play between the Nationals and Dodgers. The Nationals organization apologized for the mishap and blamed a faulty circuit breaker. Nationals pitcher Max Scherzer and Dodgers outfielder Joc Pederson had another explanation for the outage. That explanation involves Taylor Swift — yup, the pop star that’s a nightmare dressed like a daydream.

Whether Bryce Harper was in the loop or not about this T-Swift joke, the Nationals outfielder came to Swift’s aid and took the blame. He explained he’d spent a little too much time with his blow dryer before the game.

Gillette Stadium is the next venue for Swift’s concert tour. Lucky for Boston sports teams, Patriots players aren’t using the facilities and the Revolution is on the road in New York. She’d have to knock out the entire power grid for anyone to notice — but let’s not encourage her.
