The fans have picked four players for the Red Sox’s version of Mount Rushmore.

After a month-long period of fan voting, Major League Baseball announced a “Franchise Four’’ for each club. The Sox’s list featured Pedro Martinez, David Ortiz, Ted Williams and Carl Yastrzemski. Fans selected those four from a pool of eight candidates that also included Jim Rice, Dwight Evans, Carlton Fisk and Cy Young. All but Ortiz and Evans are already members of the Baseball Hall of Fame.
