Brock Holt gets another position: MLB All-Star
Brock Holt isn’t just a Brock Star. He’s also a 2015 MLB All-Star.
The Red Sox’s utility player was named as an American League reserve infielder on Monday night. The versatile 27-year-old has already started at every position for Boston except pitcher and catcher this season. He is batting .295 with two home runs, 21 RBI, 30 runs scored, 15 doubles, four triples and 30 walks in 66 games.

This is Holt’s first career All-Star selection.
After Red Sox players were shut out of the AL starting lineup in fan voting, Holt was the lone Boston player named as a reserve by AL manager Ned Yost. He may be joined in Cincinnati for MLB’s Midsummer Classic on July 14 by teammate Xander Bogaerts. The Red Sox’s shortstop is among five players nominated for the AL’s Final Vote spot on the roster.

Fans can vote for Bogaerts in MLB’s Final Vote through Friday, July 10 at 4 p.m. ET.
