The Red Sox lost in the worst way possible Sunday
Headed into the ninth inning on Sunday against the Texas Rangers, the Red Sox were finally in the right position.
They’d not played very well, having made two errors on the heels of making three in Saturday night’s 8-0 whitewash. They also continued their season-long theme of poor hitting at the most important times, going 3-for-14 with runners in scoring position and leaving 10 men on base.
But there they were, up 3-2 with their closer Koji Uehara on the hill, just three outs away from salavaging a split of the four-game series against the Rangers and heading home with a win.
It didn’t take too long for everything to go to pieces.
